Rayonier Makes Better Use of Resources with IBM Planning Analytics

Rayonier, a U.S.-based timber and real estate company, was using multiple budgeting, planning, and reporting systems across divisions, including Hyperion Enterprise, spreadsheets, SAP, and other tools, which made consolidation and reporting inefficient. Rayonier turned to Revelwood and IBM Planning Analytics powered by TM1 to replace these disconnected “fossils” with a single, easier-to-manage solution.

Revelwood built several custom IBM Planning Analytics models tailored to Rayonier’s business, including compensation, timber gross profit, real estate gross profit, and allocations models. The new system streamlined processes, improved visibility and participation, and reduced reliance on spreadsheets and legacy tools; Rayonier said it cut its close process by 15%, reduced training needs, and saved licensing and server costs.
