American Century Investments, a leading global asset manager, needed a more modern and comprehensive FP&A forecasting solution. Its older Oracle Essbase system was difficult to maintain, lacked self-service capabilities, and could not support forecasting for key areas like compensation, revenue, and more complex ad hoc analysis. To address these challenges, the company turned to Revelwood and IBM Planning Analytics.

Revelwood implemented IBM Planning Analytics with Revelwood Lightspeed and custom models for AUM, compensation and benefits, revenue, CapEx, and the McKinsey Survey. The new solution enabled weekly forecasting with fewer errors, faster ad hoc analysis, easier board slide creation, and closer collaboration with non-finance teams. American Century Investments also gained the ability to produce more frequent and granular forecasts, including weekly asset forecasts and mid-quarter projections, while improving speed and efficiency across the planning process.
