Bahama Buck’s, a Lubbock, TX–based shaved ice and smoothie franchise founded from a single stand and franchised in 1993, has grown to 42 locations with 130 more planned and expansion into 11 states. Known for gluten- and nut-free shaved ice, smoothies, lemonade and “Bahama sodas,” the brand faced service challenges as paper receipts led to dropped or wet orders, long wait times and operational disorganization.
To address this, Bahama Buck’s implemented Revel Systems’ cloud POS and Kitchen Display System—currently in 15 locations with all new stores adopting Revel—to eliminate paper tickets and streamline ordering. The KDS increased productivity by 17%, correlated with shorter wait times and higher average hourly sales, while Revel’s enterprise reporting, simplified installs and responsive support have helped franchisees standardize and scale operations.
