Leading Financial Services Company needed to perform an internal audit of email communications and electronically stored documents to determine who approved certain compensation agreements, who else was aware, and to build a timeline — from a collection of 4.1 million documents and an initial cull that still left 450,000 docs to review. To meet time and resource constraints, the customer engaged Reveal and used Reveal’s Brainspace platform and analytics tools to focus the investigation.

Reveal implemented a workflow using exemplar-driven Concept Searches, the Cluster Wheel, Focuses, Thread Analysis, background CML prioritization, QA checks, and Communications & Conversations visualizations to tell the story to the Board. The approach limited review to 5,000 documents (<99% reduction in review population), delivered roughly $50k in review cost savings and about 520 hours of resource time saved, satisfied the auditor on methodology, and gave the Leading Financial Services Company confidence in its final report.
