Pepper Content, a content marketplace connecting freelancers with more than 1,000 brands, needed a faster way to evaluate and onboard its growing pool of 45,000+ creator applicants. Its existing mix of Zoho CRM and a homegrown operations portal was hard to maintain, required engineering time for changes, and slowed down the review process as demand increased.

Pepper Content replaced that system with Retool, using it to build an onboarding app that lets teams review creator profiles, work samples, ratings, and evaluation results in one place while automatically updating the database and sending communications directly from the app. With Retool, a 3-person onboarding team was able to deeply evaluate over 5,000 creator profiles in July 2021 alone, while also expanding internal tooling faster and reducing engineering overhead.
