How Getaround offers car hosts better parking support with Retool

Getaround, a peer-to-peer car-sharing platform, needed a better way to manage the critical but complex parking operations that support its car hosts. The Parking Locations team was relying on a massive Google Sheet to track vendors, locations, subscriptions, and access card information, and the spreadsheet was slow, hard to navigate, error-prone, and couldn’t integrate with other tools. Getaround turned to Retool to help build a more usable internal workflow.

Using Retool, Getaround migrated its parking data into BigQuery and built a parking registry dashboard called Parkifier with forms, modals, wizards, and buttons to manage records more reliably. The team can now add cars, prevent duplicates, assign parking spots, update access and move-in details, and manage Stripe information with changes reflected immediately in the database. Retool gave Getaround more confidence in its data, improved operational efficiency, and laid the groundwork for better reporting and future product integration.
