Sigma-Aldrich boosts SAP fax delivery to 99.9% with Retarus

Sigma-Aldrich Corporation, a global manufacturer with offices in 40 countries, faced the challenge of integrating over 100 overseas customers into its core business processes. The company needed to reliably send EDI and fax communications, including documents with Chinese characters, directly from its SAP R/3 system. To address this, they partnered with vendor Retarus to use their Cloud EDI Gateway and Faxolution for SAP services.

Retarus implemented a solution that connected Sigma-Aldrich's SAP infrastructure to its data centers, enabling the secure sending of several thousand Unicode-ready faxes globally each month without an in-house fax infrastructure. The solution provided a 99.9% delivery rate, increased transaction security, and complete cost transparency. Retarus successfully integrated customers within a tight deadline, developed custom mappings for partners, and later expanded the platform to include an e-invoicing project for Scandinavia and Great Britain.
