Metropolitan Police Service - Customer Case Study

The Metropolitan Police Service’s Olympics Security Directorate (OSD) needed robust, fail-safe security systems for the 2012 Olympic Park and other venues to maintain continuous situational awareness across Gold, Silver and Bronze control rooms. Restrata was commissioned to provide professional and technical consultancy services, tasked with developing and implementing specialised CCTV infrastructure and a fully resilient network so the MPS’s SORs would remain connected even in failover scenarios.

Restrata designed and delivered a fully resilient network and integrated Olympic CCTV systems, providing technical project management, specification and design, tender/procurement support, installation, testing and handover, plus on-site security advisers. As a result, Restrata ensured uninterrupted CCTV feeds to Forward Control Points and preserved situational awareness for the control rooms throughout the Games, maintaining continuity of operations even if primary links failed.
