The England & Wales Cricket Board (ECB) needed to stage the first bio-secure Test Match series in July 2020 amid COVID-19, with strict government rules on social distancing, capacity limits and track-and-trace and more than 450 people working at each venue. ECB engaged Restrata and deployed the Restrata Platform’s COVID Safe solution to create a compliant, controlled environment at Ageas Bowl and Emirates Old Trafford.

Restrata installed Bluetooth-based track-and-trace, real-time capacity monitoring, and zoned access controls so stadiums could be divided into specific zones, monitor occupancy 24/7, and enforce access rights. As a result, Restrata enabled the ECB to run the England vs West Indies Test series safely and securely—managing over 450 staff per venue, meeting government guidelines, and giving organisers confidence in their COVID-19 risk controls.
