Milford hospice reduces its water consumption by 1,000,000 liters

Milford Care Centre, a Limerick-based hospice and nursing home with 350 employees, was struggling with on-site water leaks that went undetected between County Council bills arriving every 3–4 months. ResourceKraft, a specialist in energy management and cost control, donated its core software product Advisor and offered to install a monitoring system to help identify and stop those leaks.

ResourceKraft installed a 16‑channel data logger to monitor seven meters across four buildings and added additional mains water metering; its water metering equipment detected a major leak months before the utility bill. ResourceKraft’s solution helped reduce water consumption by 1,000,000 liters, avoided €3–€4K in wasted water, provided daily usage visibility and automated reporting, and paid back the investment in under two months.
