Global Construction Company, a Fortune 500 engineering and construction leader, needed to deliver fast, reliable virtual desktop access for remote and field workers across on-premises and cloud sites. Their challenge was to keep large VDI user profiles, applications, and design files continuously available with active-active high availability and disaster recovery, while reducing login delays and replication times. They evaluated several approaches, but the latency of global file systems, caching, and Microsoft FSLogix Cloud Cache was too high for their VDI needs.

The company implemented a hybrid cloud VDI solution powered by **Resilio Connect** along with Citrix, Microsoft FSLogix, Azure NetApp Files, and NetApp storage. **Resilio** enabled real-time profile synchronization across three active sites, improved replication performance by 3x, and reduced time-to-desktop by 2–5x, bringing login times down to about 15–30 seconds. The deployment also cut DFS-R replication windows from 30 minutes to 5 minutes, improved site-to-site throughput from 2.5 Gbps to nearly 8 Gbps, and supported up to 2,500 concurrent users across on-prem and cloud environments.
