Propeller, a New Orleans-based nonprofit focused on supporting entrepreneurs and addressing social and environmental disparities, needed to help Black-owned neighborhood businesses organize more effectively through the South Broad Business Coalition (SBBC). Their challenge was building a stronger governance structure and securing 501c3 status so the coalition could have an established board, greater owner representation, and the ability to pursue grants in the future.

Resilia supported Propeller by providing its Nonprofit Formation product to streamline the SBBC’s 501c3 formation process during the pandemic. Resilia’s platform and customer success support helped keep the paperwork on track, resulting in official nonprofit status, greater transparency, and a more professional, participatory structure for business owners to drive community change.
