Resolved Analytics, a boutique computational engineering and optimization consultancy co-founded by Stewart Bible, needed a more flexible way to handle highly variable simulation demand. With only 16 internal processors and a mix of CFD, finite element analysis, and other dynamic simulation workloads, the team found that keeping enough on-premise capacity for peak demand was expensive and inefficient. They turned to Rescale and its cloud simulation platform to address those bottlenecks.

Using Rescale, Resolved Analytics ran STAR-CCM+ in the cloud and planned to expand into ANSYS and OpenFOAM for overflow, larger jobs, and more basic CFD work. Rescale gave the three-person firm elastic access to far more compute power, reduced licensing and hardware strain, and enabled faster turnaround by running more processors per job. The result was better cost efficiency, more simulation iterations, and the ability for Resolved Analytics to serve more clients with greater capabilities, all while improving the bottom line.
