A Rescale Case Study
Nissan Motor Corporation was constrained by its on‑premise high‑performance computing (HPC) infrastructure—limited power, fixed hardware cycles, complex operations and 2–3 day job queues—which threatened its ability to innovate and meet market demands. To move to an agile, cloud‑enabled model, Nissan chose Rescale’s ScaleX Enterprise platform on a pay‑per‑use basis to avoid over‑provisioning and gain instant access to up‑to‑date computing resources.
Rescale implemented a managed, unified HPC platform that gave Nissan on‑demand access to the latest hardware and centralized controls for users, projects and budgets. Within four months Nissan ran hundreds of concurrent jobs per day, eliminated queue time (from 2–3 days to zero), achieved an 18% cost optimization of applications and productivity, and reduced HPC operating expenses by about 50%; Nissan also expects total cost‑per‑simulation improvements to exceed 30% as next‑generation hardware is adopted.
