Manor Racing Partners with Rescale Cloud HPC For Trackside Simulation Advantage

Manor Racing, a Formula 1 team competing in the 2016 FIA World Championship, needed faster, more flexible trackside simulation capabilities to support real-time race strategy decisions without adding weight or complexity to its on-site setup. To meet this challenge, Manor Racing partnered with Rescale and used Rescale’s cloud HPC platform alongside its existing race strategy simulation software.

Rescale enabled Manor Racing engineers to run thousands of simulations from a laptop browser with zero IT footprint trackside, effectively giving them the computing power of a large HPC cluster on demand. The result was real-time evaluation of strategies during Grand Prix weekends, stronger decision-making, and a major cost advantage by avoiding the millions of dollars required for a physical high-performance compute cluster.
