A RES Software Case Study
Royal Grammar School, a leading independent school in Newcastle upon Tyne, needed a more proactive and reliable IT environment to support students and staff. Its legacy system caused slow logins, login failures, profile corruption, inconsistent access to printers and software, and difficult troubleshooting, all of which disrupted learning and overloaded the IT team. RES Software was brought in through OISG to help address these issues, using the RES ONE suite.
RES Software implemented RES ONE Workspace, RES ONE Automation, and RES ONE Service Store to centralize workspace management, automate IT tasks, and move the school toward self-service. The results were significant: login times dropped from up to 15 minutes to under one minute, profiles and access became more consistent, diagnostics improved, and the IT team gained a more collaborative and proactive operating model. RES Software also laid the foundation for future virtualization, while increasing staff trust in IT and enabling more on-demand service requests.
