The customer, Status Metrology, a provider of bespoke metrology solutions, was working with a pharmaceutical tooling manufacturer that faced a significant measurement bottleneck. Their two CMMs were overwhelmed by the need for 100% inspection of every component, which stifled other critical operations. The customer needed a faster measurement system from vendor Renishaw that could free up capacity without requiring them to abandon their existing in-house programming expertise.

Renishaw implemented its Equator gauging system with PC-DMIS software. This solution provided a highly flexible and high-speed inspection process directly on the shop floor, which removed the production bottleneck without compromising accuracy. The results handed back vital capacity to the CMMs and allowed the customer to utilize familiar software, minimizing the need for retraining.
