A Renaissance Case Study
Granite Public Schools, a rural district in Granite, Oklahoma, needed to improve math skills and state test scores with limited financial and staffing resources. With many students qualifying for free/reduced-price lunch and a history of failing grades on state testing, the school turned to Renaissance solutions, including Star Reading, Star Early Literacy, Star Math, and Accelerated Math.
Renaissance helped Granite teachers use assessment data to pinpoint learning gaps, tailor instruction, and provide more targeted practice. In one year, students posted 8–39 percent gains on state testing, average math scores jumped from the 50s to the 90s, the school improved by two letter grades on the state report card, and teachers saved more than two hours per day. Renaissance Star assessments also predicted state math results with nearly 100 percent accuracy.
