Louisiana Principal of the Year finalist takes K–5 achievement to new heights

Mangham Elementary School, part of Richland Parish School District in Mangham, Louisiana, faced the challenge of improving K–5 achievement amid frequent changes to curriculum, standards, and testing while building a stronger data-driven RTI program. To support this effort, the school worked with Renaissance and used Star Early Literacy, Star Reading, Star Math, Accelerated Reader, and Accelerated Math.

Renaissance helped Mangham Elementary implement a more effective RTI and intervention system using benchmarking and progress-monitoring data to guide instruction, group students, and assign personalized practice. The results included nearly a two-letter-grade improvement in state school performance scores, a rise from a C ranking to within 1.7 points of an A, and major reading growth, including students reading 27,000 books in one year.
