Impacting instruction, offering flexibility: Diocese of Madison implements a student growth solution

The Diocese of Madison in Wisconsin needed a better student assessment approach after its old multiple-choice testing system took weeks to return vague results and offered little instructional value. Renaissance was brought in to provide a more flexible, useful solution that could support the diverse learning styles of educators across the diocese, using Renaissance Star 360® and Renaissance-U®.

Renaissance implemented Star 360 with a pilot rollout, principal training, and ongoing professional development through Renaissance-U®. As a result, schools now assess students three times a year with flexible testing windows, and teachers can quickly see what skills students are ready to learn next, along with suggested resources. The diocese says faculty meetings are now driven by discussions of student growth and actionable data, helping improve instruction across 44 schools and 6,500 students.
