How a school in Hawaii is encouraging students to take ownership of their learning

Saint Louis School, an all-male K-12 Catholic school in Hawaii, sought to leverage data to drive meaningful student growth. The administration found that their educators had access to data but lacked the tools to translate it into effective, informed classroom instruction. This led them to partner with Renaissance.

Renaissance implemented its myON Reader and Star Math solutions to provide a mix of digital content and data-driven assessments. The result was a dramatic increase in student engagement, with students competitively monitoring their own Lexile® scores and taking ownership of their reading. Renaissance's tools led to improved Lexile scores, a newfound love for reading both digital and traditional books, and provided educators with the data needed to personalize instruction and help students master standards.
