High expectations and hope for every student

Homestead Elementary School in Crossville, Tennessee, a pre-K–8 Title I school, wanted to maintain high achievement while closing the gap between special education and general education students. The school partnered with Renaissance and used Renaissance Star Reading, Star Math, and Star Early Literacy to better understand student needs through regular screening and data analysis.

Renaissance helped Homestead implement a data-driven approach using interim assessments, diagnostic reports, and progress monitoring to guide differentiated instruction and RTI interventions. As a result, Homestead earned Tennessee Department of Education Reward School status for two consecutive years, ranked among the top five percent of schools in the state, and exceeded state goals on third- through eighth-grade reading and math TCAP Proficiency/Advanced scores, with all annual measurable objectives achieved.
