Data-driven instructional process powers consistent academic growth in PA

Fox Chapel Area School District in Allegheny County, PA, needed a way to support and challenge every student, improve mastery of Pennsylvania Academic Core standards, and enable more individualized instruction across its six schools. Working with Renaissance, the district adopted Renaissance Star 360® as part of a districtwide, benchmark-based instructional planning process to identify student strengths, gaps, and opportunities for enrichment or intervention.

Renaissance helped Fox Chapel Area School District build a data-driven process that included regular benchmarking, collaborative data review, and instructional response plans at both the district and building levels. As a result, the district reported steady year-over-year achievement gains for four straight years, no drop in achievement, and increases in students performing at or above grade level across every grade; it also earned an eighth-place ranking on the statewide Honor Roll and moved up five spots in Pittsburgh Business Times’ district rankings.
