A Renaissance Case Study

Preview of the Carmel Hill Fund Education Program Case Study

At the NYC intersection of philanthropy, schools, and reading: 50,000 students benefit

Carmel Hill Fund Education Program, a New York-based education initiative serving schools across NYC and beyond, needed a way to motivate students to read, give educators better technology for assessing and tracking progress, involve parents, and build a lasting path to literacy success. Renaissance provided the program with solutions including Accelerated Reader 360®, Star Reading®, Star Math®, Star Early Literacy®, Star Spanish®, and related assessment tools.

With Renaissance, Carmel Hill Fund Education Program implemented a data-driven literacy and math support system that combined reading motivation, progress monitoring, and parent-friendly reporting. The results included highly engaged students, improved ELA performance, consistent growth toward proficiency, and expansion to 125 schools serving more than 50,000 students; at St. Paul School, math scores quadrupled in one year and reading levels doubled over three years.
