A RemoteLock Case Study
Kozo Keikaku Engineering, Inc., a Japanese distributor, leveraged the RemoteLock platform to address a challenge faced by the city of Omitama. The city's process for reserving and accessing community facilities like school gyms was entirely analog, relying on phone calls, physical paperwork, and the manual retrieval and return of keys. This system was inefficient, burdensome for school staff, and was further complicated by school closures and the need for contactless access during the pandemic.
The solution involved installing RemoteLock's smart locks and cloud-based access control software, integrated with an online reservation system called "Machikagi." This allowed citizens to reserve and access facilities remotely without physical keys or face-to-face interaction. The implementation by RemoteLock was a success, eliminating administrative burdens and human errors. The city estimates the new system will reduce costs by 30% annually. Following Omitama's lead, 20 other municipalities have now adopted the RemoteLock system.
