Providence, RI Streamlines Conceptual Phase of Street Design Process

The City of Providence faced an ambitious goal to rapidly expand its bicycle network and needed to streamline the conceptual phase of street design to meet that objective. To address this, the City of Providence adopted Remix, using Remix Streets + Design to support faster, more visual early-stage design work.

Providence partnered with Remix to create and share conceptual street designs (for example, visualizing a two-way urban trail and pedestrian refuge at Empire and Westminster streets), enabling live image sharing and real-time edits with stakeholders. Using Remix Streets shortened the conceptual design stage, reduced the need to contract out work to consultants, and improved stakeholder engagement through clear, modifiable visualizations.
