Vianor Replenishing Seasonal Products More Efficiently

Vianor, a Nordic tire and car service chain with around 800 outlets in 20 countries and nearly 4,500 staff, struggled with highly seasonal demand and an inefficient replenishment model. Large advance orders, decentralized in-season ordering (managed via ERP and Excel) left shops overstocked before the season, created space problems for a growing “tire hotel” service, and produced uneven stock distribution and costly small deliveries when demand spiked.

Vianor piloted RELEX across 11 locations and moved to a centralized, forecast-driven replenishment model that was tuned during the trial. The change delivered precise forecasts, improved stock distribution and availability, fewer emergency deliveries and transfers, and freed shop space for the tire hotel — driving a 30% average reduction in seasonal stock and a 7% increase in comparable sales, after which the solution was rolled out more widely.
