Ensuring a Successful Implementation and Change Management During Rapid Growth

Derome Byggvaror, a family-owned Swedish builders’ merchant founded in 1946, grew rapidly—nearly doubling its store count and increasing revenue by 29%—but struggled to track stock and maintain consistent replenishment using manual, siloed processes. The company needed an agile, centralized inventory solution to reduce dependence on individual expertise, improve availability and presentation stock, and support rapid roll-out of new stores.

Working with RELEX from 2016, Derome implemented a staged, centralized replenishment system with store managers as local advocates and a central team managing order proposals. The automation and improved data sharing increased availability by 5.8% (to 94.4%), cut average inventory value by 11.6%, raised inventory turnover by 14.6%, saved over €100,000 a year in DC logistics, halved purchasing time, eliminated missed orders and gave better visibility to support continued expansion.
