Atria, one of Finland’s largest meat-product suppliers with major operations across the Nordics, Russia and the Baltics, faced complex supply-chain challenges: very long and variable raw‑material lead times (18 weeks to 3 years), high raw‑material cost, short product shelf‑life and volatile demand driven by promotions, retailer decisions and seasonal peaks. Existing custom forecasting systems struggled to combine short‑ and long‑term planning, support campaign and assortment analysis, and deliver the day‑by‑day accuracy needed to balance production, availability and waste.

Atria implemented RELEX’s forecasting suite, integrating it with its Infor M3 ERP and loading campaign/assortment data into a central warehouse. RELEX’s statistical models produce customer‑chain–product forecasts out to 18 months and support rolling planning and campaign analysis; planning was centralized to a specialist team. The result: volume‑weighted weekly forecast accuracy improved by over 6 percentage points to >90%, forecasting became more consistent and efficient, campaign and seasonal planning improved, and planners gained time to focus on special situations.
