Arena Optimizing a Complex, Global Supply Chain

Arena is a global swimwear and sports-apparel brand headquartered in Tolentino, Italy, with €195M turnover, 250 employees and distribution to 116 countries through a central DC, two regional DCs and 15 virtual warehouses. Facing long Far East lead times, growing retailer demand for smaller, more frequent orders, and Excel-based forecasting that forced up to 60% advance ordering, Arena needed a more accurate, automated, sales-driven planning approach for 5,000 continuous and 15,000 seasonal SKUs.

Arena implemented RELEX (forecasting, replenishment and allocation) starting in 2017, using its Business Rules Engine to generate size-level forecasts, respect supplier order constraints and automate order creation. The solution halved manual effort, enabled faster iterations and better visibility across the supply chain, increased order cycles from 6 to 12 per year, cut order cancellations and freed planners to focus on optimization rather than routine ordering—improving availability while reducing inventory and working capital needs.
