A Relativity Case Study

Preview of the Shepherd Data Services Case Study

Switching to an Assisted Review Workflow Saved Their Customer Thousands of Hours of Work and More Than $100,000

Shepherd Data Services, a certified woman-owned Minneapolis e-discovery and digital forensics firm, was engaged by a state agency to quickly produce an administrative record for potential litigation. With linear review underway but 466,000 records to sift through, projected turnaround time and resource requirements exceeded the agency’s time and cost limits, so Shepherd turned to Relativity and its Relativity Assisted Review capability.

Shepherd implemented a new workflow using existing work product and analytics to build a pre-coded seed set that trained Relativity Assisted Review to make informed coding decisions. Using Relativity, four reviewers processed roughly half a million records in under four days, saving thousands of hours and more than $100,000 while providing greater transparency and accuracy into the review decisions.
