Ricker & Eckler Built a Custom Application on Relativity to Track 1,200 Landowners Across 200 Miles To Streamline a Natural Gas Pipeline Project

Bricker & Eckler LLP was engaged to manage information and documents for a multibillion-dollar natural gas pipeline spanning roughly 200 miles and more than 1,200 landowners, including tracking thousands of real estate records and hundreds of potential easement lawsuits under a tight deadline. To meet this challenge the firm leveraged Relativity’s extensible platform to build a custom application rather than rely on slow, manual Excel/Word tracking.

Using Relativity, Bricker & Eckler LLP developed LandTracker (a 2017 Relativity Innovation Award winner), creating custom objects, event handlers and calendar automation, integrating Google Earth KMZ files, and adding real-time analytics and financial reporting. The solution made landowner and easement data searchable and visualized across the 200-mile route, auto-generated complaint/exhibit documents and daily status reports, saved thousands of hours of manual work, and enabled timely court-calendar compliance and business forecasting — all delivered on the Relativity platform.
