A Relativity Case Study
DLS Discovery was hired to help Wilks, Lukoff, and Bracegirdle sort and de-duplicate a complex production that ultimately totaled nearly one million records after a government re-production renumbered roughly 300,000 files. With insufficient metadata to match sets and the need to replicate first‑pass issue coding so documents wouldn’t be reviewed twice, DLS Discovery turned to Relativity’s Analytics to tackle near‑duplicate identification.
Using Relativity Analytics set at 99% similarity, DLS loaded about 900,000 documents and identified roughly 200,000 duplicate groups—about 500,000 documents—eliminating over 50% of the dataset from review. By propagating prior coding to approximately 153,000 duplicate records and QCing via random sampling, DLS Discovery saved an estimated 1,150 hours of review time and substantially reduced review cost and effort.
