Control Risks Collects and Processes 808 GB in a Few Days

Control Risks, a Relativity solutions provider, was asked to support a chemical company’s internal investigation in APAC during COVID travel restrictions. The client needed rapid, remote collection of nine custodians’ Microsoft 365 data (emails, calendars, contacts, and OneDrive) but an onsite forensic collection was impossible. Control Risks used Collect in RelativityOne to address this challenge without burdening the client’s remote IT team.

Using Relativity’s Collect, Control Risks connected to the client’s Azure M365 instance, ran tests, and optimized the workflow by splitting collections into Outlook (email/calendar/contacts) and the larger OneDrive sets. The team collected 808 GB from nine custodians, staged data within hours, and completed processing in days rather than the one to two weeks a manual export and shipped hard drive would have taken. Keeping data in Azure ensured secure, forensically sound collections with detailed audit trails, faster setup (under a day), and improved control and visibility for Control Risks and the client.
