CDS Culls Data by More than 99% in Data Subject Access Request

Complete Discovery Source (CDS) was engaged by a UK-based technology firm facing a broad Data Subject Access Request (DSAR) with a one-month GDPR deadline (later extended). The firm needed to find relevant material across shared and local repositories without overspending, so CDS used Relativity and its RelativityOne platform to tackle an initial export of over one million documents.

Using RelativityOne’s Analytics, advanced deduplication, email threading and search-term reporting, CDS reduced the data set from about 1,000,000 documents to just 12,544 (a cull of more than 99%), reviewed that set with four reviewers, and produced 2,285 documents (629 of which required redaction). Relativity’s tools enabled CDS to meet the GDPR-mandated deadline and avoid an estimated 517 days of linear review, delivering a focused, compliant production on time.
