Case Study: ARGE Fahrbahn TransTec Gotthard achieves full traceability and streamlined project control with Relatics

A Relatics Case Study

Preview of the ARGE Fahrbahn TransTec Gotthard Case Study

The flexibility of Relatics enables us to quickly adapt to changes

ARGE Fahrbahn Transtec Gotthard (AFTTG), a consortium of Balfour Beatty Rail and Renaissance Construction, was tasked with installing ballastless track through the 57 km Gotthard rail tunnel — the world’s longest — under extremely tight quality, safety and logistical constraints. The project required custom concrete and equipment, strict traceability from requirements through verification, a 21‑step “production line” installation process, limited access and even offline working conditions inside the tunnel.

A central Relatics information system was implemented to manage requirements, RAMS/V‑model verification, logistics, quality, safety, timekeeping, stock and costs, with handheld data capture and offline sync for on‑site work. The solution delivered full traceability and real‑time oversight, streamlined processes and reporting, supported ISO 9000 certification, and enabled the team to meet contract, schedule and safety targets while keeping costs and maintenance planning under control.
