Sweco, a leading European engineering consultancy, was appointed by the Province of Noord‑Brabant to supervise the LIFE+ Groote Peel raised-bog restoration across 1,500 hectares. The programme involved simultaneous, sensitive works—embankments, culverts, weirs and seepage screens—requiring careful environmental protection and close oversight to track contractor compliance and record any deviations, which was cumbersome using pen-and-paper field notes.

Sweco deployed Relatics with smartphone and tablet recording to capture on-site observations, photos and linked documents directly into a central system, and to manage area releases and approvals. The change produced fast, automated daily reports, reduced errors and rework, made over 200 reports and 100+ documents instantly accessible to client and contractor, and kept all stakeholders continuously up-to-date while improving Sweco’s supervision services.
