A Relatics Case Study
Combinatie Ommelanderdiek (a consortium of Boskalis Nederland and KWS Infra) is delivering the Dijkverbetering Eemshaven–Delfzijl project for the Noorderzijlvest Water Board: 12 km of dyke must be raised, widened, strengthened and made earthquake‑resistant on a compressed schedule that shortens the overall completion time by about 2.5 years. Working under a Design & Construct contract and splitting the work into four parallel sub‑projects, the consortium faced high demands for fast, reliable communication and early validation of requirements to avoid rework during construction.
To meet the challenge they centralized all project data in Relatics and linked it to a near‑real‑time GIS viewer so stakeholders could view progress, inspect objects and answer queries directly without time‑consuming exports. Combined with weekly consultations and early validation of requirements, this shortened information throughput, preserved the project’s time gains, reduced delays and minimized disputes—accelerating design completion and improving transparency for client and contractor alike.
