Relatics improves control in major road works project in Groningen

Combinatie Herepoort, a consortium led by Max Bögl, is delivering the Aanpak Ring Zuid — a complex rebuild of 12 km of Groningen’s southern ring road to improve accessibility, safety and quality of life. The project involved many disciplines, strict limits on permissible traffic delays, and more than 3,500 client requirements plus a tight one‑year design window, creating a major need for robust information, coordination and risk control across multiple partners.

The consortium implemented Relatics to create a single, linked source of truth for requirements, design objects, interfaces and risks, with shared access for partners and the client. Centralized data and automated reporting sped up reviews, improved transparency and accountability, enabled weekly joint risk overviews and better risk mitigation, reduced errors and handoffs, and gave all stakeholders clear, up‑to‑date visibility throughout design and execution.
