Pioneering with information management by the province of Gelderland

The Province of Gelderland led the Dieren underpass project to reunite a town split by the busy N348 road, reduce nuisance and improve traffic and public-transport safety. Information Manager Niels Reyngoud faced the common challenge of coordinating diverse information flows across design, construction and maintenance phases, where mismatched formats and definitions traditionally make handover slow and error-prone.

Gelderland used Relatics to build a single Object Type Library (OTL), generate COINS BIM containers for standardized digital exchange, and link objects to GIS maps via iViewer. The result is one consistent source of truth that can be queried from multiple perspectives, speeds up data transfer, reduces errors, and gives contractors and maintenance teams targeted, usable information for more efficient project delivery and long-term asset management.
