Case Study: BESIX (Sas van Vreeswijk) achieves demonstrably improved availability of the Prinses Beatrix sluice complex and streamlined project control with Relatics

A Relatics Case Study

Preview of the BESIX Case Study

Improved availability of Beatrix sluice complex always demonstrable

Sas van Vreeswijk (a consortium of BESIX, Heijmans and Jan De Nul) is delivering the third lock chamber and associated works for the Prinses Beatrix sluice complex to increase capacity and secure safe passage for larger, growing inland shipping. Responsible for design, build, finance and 27 years of maintenance (DBFM), the project involves many subprojects and stakeholders, and the team needed to guarantee—and be able to demonstrate—the continuous availability and reliability of the sluices while minimising disruption.

The consortium adopted Relatics to centralise requirements, decisions, risks and object data, give the client a view‑only portal, and provide dashboards and prioritized task lists (with time locks) for verifications. This eliminated parallel information flows, cut e‑mail overhead, sped up reporting and audits, and made it straightforward to hand over accurate historical data to maintenance teams—ensuring transparent oversight and demonstrable sluice availability.
