Uber Integrates Regula Solutions for Enhanced Safety Protocols

Uber, a global ride-hailing platform, faced challenges with its driver verification process in Poland, which was time-consuming and vulnerable to sophisticated document forgery. To enhance safety and compliance, Uber partnered with vendor Regula to improve the authenticity checks of driver identification documents using the Regula 70X9 document reader.

The solution involved equipping Uber's Verification Centers with Regula's devices, which use automatic authenticity control, OCR, and data extraction from chips and barcodes to swiftly detect forgeries. This implementation by Regula tripled the weekly number of drivers verified per office and led to the detection of over 30 document forgeries, significantly streamlining the process and improving security.
