A Regula Case Study
The Portuguese Immigration and Border Service (SEF) needed to rapidly adapt its border control procedures to enforce social distancing and reduce physical contact for its agents during the COVID-19 pandemic. To meet this challenge, SEF partnered with vendor Regula and integrated their Document Reader SDK.
By incorporating Regula's technology into a mobile application developed with Present Technologies, SEF enabled its border agents to authenticate identity documents without any physical contact. This Regula solution successfully facilitated over 75,000 inspections per month, significantly increasing both the efficiency and safety of border control operations.
