Pegasus Airlines, a Turkish airline, aimed to automate and expedite its passenger check-in and boarding processes to enhance the travel experience and prepare for a forecasted doubling of air travel. Its challenge was to eliminate delays and errors from manual document checks. To solve this, the airline partnered with vendor Regula and implemented its Document Reader SDK.
Regula's solution integrated into the Pegasus mobile app, using a robust OCR engine and a database of over 11,000 document templates to verify IDs from any device quickly and accurately. This created a streamlined, three-step check-in process for passengers, greatly increasing customer satisfaction and ensuring full GDPR compliance for data security.
