AirAsia Aviation Group Revolutionizes the Travel Experience With Regula ID Verification Software

AirAsia Aviation Group, a leading aviation group in the Asia Pacific, aimed to create a contactless check-in and boarding process to mitigate pandemic risks and streamline the passenger experience. Their challenge was to implement a secure and automated ID verification system that could handle their vast international network and validate documents from anywhere in the world quickly and accurately. To achieve this, they turned to vendor Regula and its Regula Document Reader SDK.

The solution embedded Regula's software into the airline's Super App, enabling passengers to enroll in the contactless FACES program by simply taking a selfie and uploading an ID photo. The Regula Document Reader SDK performed rapid authentication by cross-comparing data and checking for forgeries. This resulted in a seamless, 30-second enrollment process. The implementation was a success, with over 600,000 passengers enrolled, benefiting from the technology's speed and the vast coverage of Regula's database of 11,000 ID templates from 248 countries.
