A Regroup Mass Notification Case Study
NERT, San Francisco Fire Department runs the Neighborhood Emergency Response Team, a citywide volunteer program that has trained more than 25,000 residents across roughly 50 neighborhoods (adding about 1,000 new volunteers a year). Facing the challenge of communicating timely, neighborhood-specific information to a large, dispersed and device-diverse volunteer network, NERT implemented the Regroup Mass Notification platform to deliver scalable, customizable alerts and ongoing communications.
Regroup Mass Notification provided a cloud-based mass notification solution — including mass text alerts with correlated emails, scheduled HTML newsletters, GeoFence messaging, and unlimited admins — that empowered neighborhood leaders to send targeted messages and kept volunteers engaged day-to-day. The platform enabled rapid volunteer deployment (notably supporting communities north of San Francisco after devastating fires), helped NERT reach and coordinate its 25,000+ volunteers efficiently, reduced hardware costs, and contributed to the program earning the Regroup Ready Award.
