Case Study: Mercy College achieves flexible, rapid campus alerts and improved emergency preparedness with Regroup Mass Notification

A Regroup Mass Notification Case Study

Preview of the Mercy College Case Study

Mercy college switched to regroup mass notification from a state-sponsored Alert system Because of its flexibility

Mercy College, a private New York institution with more than 11,000 students across multiple campuses (including 1,700 students added after leasing additional campuses), needed a flexible, easy-to-use mass notification system for both routine communications and unpredictable emergencies. Mercy College switched from a state‑sponsored alert system to Regroup Mass Notification because it required greater flexibility for weather announcements, campus safety alerts, and potential threats to faculty, staff, and students.

Regroup Mass Notification partnered with Mercy to create the white‑label Mercy Alert system, automatically enrolling Mercy emails, allowing unlimited phone numbers and user preferences (voice or text), and providing emergency templates that send notifications in two taps. The solution enabled simultaneous SMS, email and voice alerts across all campuses—used for weather closures and to initiate a 2018 campus lockdown—reducing time-consuming manual postings, reaching thousands in seconds, and providing ongoing training and support.
