How Venice City Tours is Generating New Revenue Despite COVID-19

Venice City Tours, a premier tour operator in Venice, faced a sudden stop to in-person operations due to COVID-19 and needed new revenue streams while staying connected to customers. They partnered with Regiondo, using Regiondo’s booking and distribution software to sell and manage an online Tiramisu cooking class and other digital experiences via their website and online channels.

Regiondo distributed the class on Venice City Tours’ website, referred it to OTAs, and supported social promotion, while the Regiondo–JSDM competence center provided free consulting and online seminars to help pivot the business. The result: Venice City Tours quickly generated new revenue and customer engagement with one-hour classes limited to five households (tickets priced at €30), yielding up to €150 per session and enabling the operator to expand into additional online offerings like mask-making, wine tasting and pasta classes.
