Okabashi, founded in 1984, is the largest U.S. manufacturer of sandals and flip-flops and has sold over 30 million pairs. Known for exceptionally comfortable shoes, Okabashi wanted to amplify strong existing word-of-mouth and find a referral marketing solution that would turn customer enthusiasm into measurable growth.
They implemented ReferralCandy, which was set up quickly to send post-purchase referral emails and social-share coupons. Launched in March 2011, the program drove increased sales within a week, became one of Okabashi’s top 10 referral traffic sources, and led referred customers to spend 13.2% more on average.
