E.ON Romania modernizes legacy PHP app with Reea on Azure Cloud

The customer, E.ON Romania, the nation's largest energy provider, faced the challenge of migrating its legacy PHP application to a cloud-based solution on Microsoft Azure. This migration required complex integration and communication with numerous third-party systems, including SAP, Microsoft Dynamics CRM, and a Data Warehouse. The vendor, Reea, was tasked with designing and implementing this new architecture.

Reea implemented a solution using Java microservices, an Azure SQL Database, and Azure Service Bus, with a client-facing frontend powered by Adobe Experience Manager. The new platform provided a full suite of capabilities from sales to self-service, secured by an Application Gateway with a Web Application Firewall. By leveraging various Azure services for integration, security, and monitoring, Reea successfully modernized the infrastructure, achieving improved fault tolerance, security, and end-to-end observability for the customer.
